FAQ – Xiai Comics
-
Xiai Comics is an independent, creator-owned comic universe built on Afrofuturism, philosophy, and long-form world-building. It exists to explore Black futures with depth, imagination, and intention — not shortcuts, stereotypes, or recycled ideas.
-
Xiai represents evolution — personal, cultural, and spiritual. It’s not about perfection or arriving at a final answer. It’s about movement, growth, and the space between who we are and who we’re becoming.
If that sounds abstract, don’t worry. The stories make it tangible.
-
Yes — but not in the surface-level, aesthetic-only sense.
Xiai treats Afrofuturism as a framework, not a costume. It blends futurism, ancestry, philosophy, and speculative ideas to imagine Black futures that are expansive, complex, and rooted in agency.
No shortcuts. No trends-for-trend’s-sake.
-
Because the future is being written in real time — through technology, culture, and power — and too often Black voices are either missing or flattened.
Afrofuturism isn’t about escaping reality. It’s about reclaiming imagination. It asks a simple but radical question: What happens when we’re allowed to exist fully in the future?
-
By refusing to make trauma the entire personality.
XIAI doesn’t reduce Black characters to struggle, crime, or pain loops. Those realities aren’t ignored — they’re just not the only story. Intelligence, curiosity, joy, spirituality, conflict, humour, and contradiction all exist here.
People are complicated. The stories should be too.
-
Xiai is built as a growing universe.
The stories are designed to reward long-term readers — with evolving characters, layered themes, and a world that expands over time. You can enter at different points, but everything connects.
Think journey, not one-off.
-
No.
If you like strong stories, meaningful ideas, and worlds you can sink into, you’re good. Xiai is written to welcome new readers without talking down to experienced ones.
No homework required.
-
XIAI is written for mature readers — not because it’s graphic, but because it engages with ideas, philosophy, and complexity. It respects the reader’s intelligence and expects curiosity in return.
-
Yes. Fully.
Xiai is independently created and owned. That means the stories aren’t shaped by corporate checklists or franchise fatigue — they’re shaped by vision, intention, and long-term thinking.
-
That’s the goal.
Xiai is designed as a world first — one that can grow into animation, film, and other formats over time. The foundation is the story. Everything else builds from there.
-
Read. Share. Engage.
Every reader who steps into the world and stays a while helps it grow. If something here resonates with you, you’re already part of the journey.
